Google is always adding new features to its products and this is true for YouTube as well. In fact, the constant stream of updates may be hard to keep up with so the site is now listing some of the most recent new features and improvements which haven’t been formally introduced yet. Some of the updates are bigger, some are barely noticeable, but they all add to the experience.

The Playlist Bar started showing up in the last week and YouTube is now explaining its plans for it. “[W]hen you view a playlist, recommended videos (from the homepage), your subscriptions or your favorites, you'll see a control bar at the bottom of the page, displaying the videos from those categories," YouTube writes.

The goal is to keep you from having to jump back and forth to different pages to select which videos you'd like to watch next,” it adds. This feature is still very much in development and the YouTube team is keeping an eye on feedback to know how to move forward.

Among the smaller new features: the music page now lists events near you, a feature powered by Songkick, to know when an artist may be coming to a location nearby. Annotations and tooltips got some cleaning up, with some new colors and a more elegant look.

The video upload manager got a revamp to make it easy to browse through your videos. You can sort your videos alphabetically, by length, by recency and by views. You can also manage the videos you viewed and liked as well as the ones you may have bought on YouTube.

Recently, a way for embedding HTML5 videos instead of using the regular Flash-based player has also been introduced. There’s good news for those who user their webcams to create YouTube videos as well, all recordings are now created at 360p by default.
