For students missing school already

It’s the middle of the summer and most students are enjoying their well earned vacations. But that doesn’t mean that if, for whatever reason, you actually want to learn something you have to wait until the semester starts. Like in many cases, the answer is on YouTube. The site’s YouTube EDU channel is gaining popularity and the team thought that there’s no better time to highlight some of the best learning courses available on the site than during the summer vacation.

“If you want to keep those math formulas fresh and foreign languages top-of-mind, this could be the stuff that gives you a leg up on the non-YouTubers in your class come the fall,” YouTube writes on its blog.

“Since we want nothing more than to help you rule the world, we are creating playlists, by topic, of the videos you might want to watch to get ahead of the curve. Each week, we’ll post a new playlist to the blog and the YouTube channel. Think of it as a mini virtual summer school, but without the research papers and early-morning start times,” the post also reads.

The first such playlist should prove appealing to those wanting to know how the world around us works as it focuses on the study of matter and its motion through space and time. The playlist features the entire Physics 8.01 course from MIT. It’s an interesting watch and should prove enlightening for interested in learning about the mysteries of our Universe.

Next week, YouTube has a course about art planned. If you’re getting bored during your summer vacation, YouTube’s proposition may sound very interesting. The nice part about this is that the videos come with a quality guarantee from YouTube. The site isn’t exactly lacking in videos on every subject imaginable, finding the ones worth watching is the hard part.
