NBC removes YouTube channel

While most companies struggle to create new YouTube channels, some other firms remove their existing YouTube pages and all the content published on the Google video sharing service. I'm talking about NBC Universal, the company which quietly deleted the YouTube channel a few months ago, Valleywag reports today. Now, let's try to discover the reasons for the removal because it's well known that YouTube's channels represent one of the best methods to promote your videos on the Internet.

First of all, there's Hulu. In case you never heard of it, Hulu is the online video sharing technology powered by NBC which is supposed to be released soon and compete directly with Google's product. At this time, Hulu is under private beta stages and you can only hope you're included in the testings because the developer of the product selects a limited number of consumers to try the service. The attractive thing is that Hulu will provide access to numerous TV series powered by NBC Universal including Chuck, The Simpsons, Heroes and even Family Guy.

YouTube has always struggled to sign new deals to bring content on its page and it managed to do so every once in a while. For example, after the dispute with Viacom was started and YouTube was forced to remove 100,000 clips from the page, the Google video sharing service officials sustained they signed no less than 1,000 deals which bought new content on YouTube.

Anyway, it seems like this exciting campaign of partnerships is about to end as the partners started creating their own video sharing service and since they aim to compete with YouTube, they cannot publish their content on Google's video service. NBC's Hulu is just an example, but there are a lot of other similar technologies which aim to steal YouTube's users: eyeVio, GodTube, Metacafe and Dailymotion.
