X Factor premiered over the weekend in the new format, with Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland, Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh on the panel of the judges. Walsh being the only judge still standing from the old panel, talk of bringing in poor “replacements” on the show was bound to emerge. And that it did, as the video
here will confirm.
George Gerasimou is 19 years old and this was the second time he auditioned for X Factor, the first time being two years ago, as part of a band called Triple Trouble.
Back then, Simon Cowell was on the panel and George did not take kindly to the judges’ criticism, storming off the stage after throwing the microphone down and calling the judges names.
Though he set out to “clear his name,” he did the exact contrary the other night, branding Tulisa a “scumbag” that’s only trying to replace Cheryl Cole, who left at the end of the previous season, at the same time as Cowell
and Dannii Minogue.
“I’m here to clear my name. Back then I was really quick tempered and whatnot, I was a trainwreck. That was two years ago, but I’ve grown up a lot since then,” George tells the judges, after Tulisa recognizes him.
He then launches into a disastrous rendition of “Gimme Everything” and, when the music is cut off by Gary, he just stands behind the judges, as if on the verge of threatening them.
“Why did you stop the music. Who are you? You’re just someone trying to replace Cheryl Cole,” George lashes out at Tulisa, as security guards are escorting him back on stage, from where he’s to hear out the judges’ verdict.
After he hears it (and of course it’s not favorable), George tries to make his point by insulting the judges, and Tulisa in particular, once more.
“OK, I respect your opinion. Now it’s time for my opinion. You will vote… in good time. Tulisa, if you’re replacing Cheryl…” he says, before he’s cut off.
“You’re some scumbag trying to replace Cheryl. Some scumbag from the block,” he yells at her through profanities, as he’s being escorted out.
Useless to note, the contestant aka wannabe singer leaves the venue swearing and proving that, in fact, he didn’t “mature” at all.
