The latest LG commercial is quite horrible, to say the least

Product commercials are usually a good way to be poking some harmless (or not) fun at the competition. Apple and Samsung do it best, as both companies have been known to roll out acidic videos directed towards one another that leave little to the interpretation.

However, the latest ad LG put out for its G Pad series of tablets takes things to a whole new level. In it, a male character purchases a 10.1-inch tablet (it looks like Samsung, but we only see the word Pad plastered on the back).

Our character is immediately taken with his new device, but LG says “People sometimes make dumb choices” and we’re immediately being shown how slip does not come about without severe punishment.

The poor fellow is almost hit by a truck, utterly ignores his girlfriend, gets stricken down and more. However, towards the end fate brings him back on the right track, as he meets a girl who is talking on her LG G Pad through via the QPair feat.

Finally, our man comes to his senses and runs off and buys an LG G Pad. The overall motto of this grotesque little adventure is “Make the Smart Choice.”

I’m quite skeptical that LG will get customers on board this way. Calling adopters of different slates “dumb” out flat is not very gracious and definitely not the right way to sell a device. Anyway, check out the ad for yourselves and draw your own conclusions.
