You Really Need a Solid Gold Stylus!

- For your Sharp W-Zero3 Pocket PC

By: Sergiu Gatlan, Communications News Editor

This is the 536 $ stylus.

Stop asking yourself what is the latest trend among the filthy rich Pocket PC users. I got the answer and it starts with an S. No, it is not a Ferrari Spider, not even a Maserati Sebring. It is a solid gold stylus ready to take over your Sharp W-ZERO3 display and start scribbling all sorts of things
on its cheap LCD TFT figure.

That's about as ludicrous as it gets in the mobile business. Forget the cellphones made out of gold and precious wood, forget the handsets covered in diamonds or any other "high-end", expensive as an yacht mobile phone because, at least, they are somewhat useful: you can give a call to 911 in case you're in danger.

But what can you do with a solid gold stylus? Use it in pair with your Pocket PC? Yeah I really see where the usefulness of it comes into the equation. Exactly nowhere! I would better use a pencil that run out of ink or even a pen before I pay the money for such a thing.

I know, I don't have the money to buy it at the moment because it costs somewhere around 536 $; a stylus price way out of my league, but even if I were a millionaire I would not think for a second to "invest" my money in such a device.

This is the worst idea that I encountered this year (except the genius cellphone strap :) ) and I suppose the humongous sum of money one has to pay to get it in his pocket would be better spent buying yourself an iPhone or, better yet, an LG Prada cellphone.

That is a much better way to spend your money since you will never need a stylus. Those handsets are operated "by hand", so a stylus is out of the question. Even a 536 $ golden one :).

However, I wouldn't be surprised to find out the guys that came up with this idea made a fortune selling gold styli because, as we all know so well, there are only two infinite things known to man: the universe and human stupidity. And the latter might just be a little bigger!
