You Do not Talk About The Club Demo on XBL Marketplace

- SEGA releases exclusive Xbox 360 demo for their upcoming shooter, The Club

By: Filip Truta, Games Editor

Wii owners have gotten their treat, so now it's Xbox 360 gamers' turn to get some downloadable goodies this week. Well, actually it's just one downloadable goodie, called The Club, for now. SEGA has released a demo version of its upcoming shooter via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. You can turn on the console and download it right now, if you're living in
a PAL territory (Europe or Australia).

According to SEGA, The Club mixes HD graphics with score based challenges to deliver an intriguing and innovative shooter for today's standards. The Club was created by Bizarre Creations, a development studio best known for Metropolis Street Racer on Dreamcast and the Project Gotham Racing series for Microsoft's entertainment systems.

Here's a bunch of features this demo promises to deliver:

- The Prison environment; a disused crumbling, tomb-like Federal Penitentiary, lying in a remote region of one of the less glamorous Rustbelt states.
- One playable character exclusive to the Xbox LIVE Marketplace version of the demo (Renwick, a tough, no nonsense, NYPD Detective whose investigations brought him too close to The Club).
- Single player modes ‘Sprint’ and ‘Time Attack’.
- Multiplayer split-screen

Basically, players will have to fight in a shadowy underground blood-sport run by a secret group of sick millionaires, one of eight misfit gladiators. Of course, each character has different reasons for being in The Club. Some of them find themselves in The Club against their will. There's one thing they have in common though, and that's staying alive, killing their opponents quickly and skilfully.

Just so you know that you're making a wise decision by downloading the demo version of The Club on your Xbox 360 (not that it costs you anything to do it) here's what the UK Official Xbox 360 Magazine had to say about the game: "The rules of The Club are simple: you cannot break your stride. You cannot stop. You must be the perfect killing machine. This is Space Invaders for the Quentin Tarantino generation. Welcome to heaven."

The full version of The Club launches in Europe on February 8th 2008 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Here's the game's official website for more information.
