Canonical is preparing to celebrate Father's Day in a different way, by allowing a happy user to win the BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition, which has just been released.

Many of the Ubuntu fans know that there is a new BQ phone available for purchase, named Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition. It's a little bit better than the previous E4.5 edition (which is still available for purchase), with a bigger screen and better camera.

Now, Canonical is offering the new BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition to someone who will properly honor "thy father" or who will prove that he's an Ubuntu fan.

Father's Day is a relatively new celebration that has popped up in the last hundred years, and it's not observed at an international level, although more and more countries are adopting it. Also, this is not the first BQ phone that has been offered in a contest, which means it's probably not the last either.

BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition is up for grabs

If your father is an Ubuntu fan, then all you have to do is prove it with a simple screenshot. It might not seem like much, but the new BQ phone is really sought after, and there's going to be a lot of competition.

"We want to celebrate Father's Day by giving away the new +BQ E.5 device. Show us how much of an Ubuntu fan your dad is with either a photo, short sentence or mini video. Hashtag your entry with ‪#‎UbuntuDad‬ on either Twitter, Facebook or G+ by this Sunday and we'll pick our favourite from the entries - applicable to Europe. We look forward to celebrating Father's Day with you! ‪#‎HappyFathersDay‬," reads the announcement made on the official Ubuntu Google+ account.

If you are not lucky enough to be the winner of the new BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition, you can always buy one. It costs just €199 ($223).
