Syncing AdBlock isn't such a difficult task

Everyone who’s ever used AdBlock has loved the tool, since it offers them a clean Internet, which includes blocking those pesky YouTube ads and the pop-up ads that are driving us all crazy. Now, the service has just become easier to use across multiple devices.

“Since AdBlock v2.9, your settings, filters lists and custom filters can be automatically synchronized, if you are logged into Dropbox,” the company announces, indicating that the new feature only works in Chrome and Opera right now.

All you have to do is go to the AdBlock button, pick Options from the list, and to go the “General” tab. There, you’ll have to enable the feature that says you’re an advanced user, which will show you more advanced options.

Then, a new button will appear, allowing you to “Sync to Dropbox,” which, in turn, will open a new tab. If you’re already logged into the cloud storing service, there will be a confirmation window telling you that “GetAdBlock would like limited access to save its own data in your Dropbox.” The last step is clicking the “Allow” button before your settings, filter lists, and custom filters get saved to the account.

Those who aren’t logged into their Dropbox accounts will have to log in and confirm access to the account.

AdBlock will help clean up your browsing

AdBlock can make it so that you no longer view a bunch of types of ads on the sites you visit. There’s a whitelist of ads that are allowed to fly under the radar, but there’s not a whole bunch of them in the first place.

You can even tell the app to continue showing you various things, such as the text ads on Google search results or whitelist specific YouTube channels so you can help out the content creators by displaying their ads.

It’s possible to add in various filter lists, some of which get automatically updated by the service. It’s possible to add even more in, such as one that should protect you from malware and one that will remove all your social media buttons from the article pages you visit.

AdBlock and many other similar tools offer quite a few options to users who want to make sure their Internet experience is as clean as possible. While such tools may end up ruining the way a page looks, it will declutter the websites you visit.
