RTS fans worldwide will be very pleased to know that THQ has announced today that Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, developed by none other than the renowned real-time strategy game developer, Relic Entertainment, has shipped to retailers. For newcomers to the series, you
might want to look into this game, as it features quite an enhanced multiplayer set of options.

"A year ago, THQ shipped Company of Heroes and shattered all barriers for cinematic intensity in the RTS genre," said Kevin Kraff, director of global brand management, THQ. "Today, we are thrilled to release the next critically-acclaimed chapter in the Company of Heroes franchise and once again establish a new standard for excellence."

Just so we can get one fact out of the way, everyone should know that Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts is the latest installment in the RTS series from Relic Entertainment. The game of course builds on everything the original Company of Heroes game had to offer, bringing "two new armies" and a "vastly enhanced" set of multiplayer options, as the official report goes.

"Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts delivers Relic's best RTS gaming experience to date, weaving together the epic stories of the Battle for Caen and Operation Market Garden with countless advancements in soldier and vehicle AI, environmental strategy, and visual realism," said Tarrnie Williams, general manager, Relic Entertainment. "The addition of two new unique armies opens up many exciting possibilities within the Company of Heroes universe, and we are very proud to deliver the highest level of RTS gameplay to our fans worldwide."

Again, THQ has confirmed that Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts is currently available at major retailers worldwide, although this latest report coming from the game's publisher fails to provide any details on pricing.
