This is because the grey, dull-looking boulder is not really a boulder, but a chic cabin in disguise

Thanks to Geneva-based design studio Bureau A, the Swiss Alps are now home to one very special boulder that people can live in. That's right, those more adventurous of the bunch can take hiking to a whole new level.

At first glance, the boulder, photos of which are included in the gallery below, looks rather dull. The thing is that, contrary to what some might assume, it is not really a large rock and not much else.

On the contrary, this boulder in the Swiss Alps is actually a cabin in disguise. A cabin that comes complete with a bed, a stool, a window and even a fireplace, but that looks like a regular, grey rock when observed from afar, to be more precise.

Oddity Central tells us that, to put together this boulder-like cabin, the folks at Bureau A started by constructing a regular wooden home and then coated it in materials mimicking rock. Eventually, they spray-painted it.

Mind you, they even named it Antoine, after the protagonist of a book telling the tale of a man who got caught in a landslide and who somehow managed to survive 7 weeks trapped under some rocks.

It is understood that the cabin is now located somewhere along the path between La Chaux and Ruinettes. People can visit it for free, but the catch is that, to do so, they must first find it.

If you have a couple of minutes to spare and want to have a closer look at Bureau A's Antoine cabin, check out the video below to see it being set in place in the Swiss Alps.
