Few things are quite as relaxing as getting a deep muscle massage at the end of a long workweek, many people agree. In fact, it looks like some people are so fond of massages that they are willing to go to extreme lengths to get the absolute best experience there ever was.

Long story short, word has it that visitors to a zoo in the Philippines can now sit back, relax and enjoy a deep muscle massage performed not by trained staff but by snakes. Yes, snakes, as in the slithering creatures some can't even stand being around.

Possibly the weirdest massages ever

Snakes don't have any kind of limbs. This much has always been true to anyone who has ever had the chance to open a biology book or watch a few minutes of a wildlife documentary. Hence, some of you might be asking yourself how the heck they could ever massage people.

Well, as it turns out, the pythons living in captivity at the Cebu City Zoo in the Philippines massage visitors to this wildlife sanctuary much in the same way that they would massage their prey shortly before killing it and turning it into their next meal.

Simply put, they coil themselves around guys' and gals' body. Apparently, all it takes to deliver the perfect deep muscle massage is let as many as four pythons whose combined weight amounts to 250 kilograms (550 pounds) crawl all over you.

Check out the photos accompanying this article to get a better idea what letting pythons help you relax your muscles looks like. Fair warning, the photos are pretty shocking, so those more squeamish of the bunch should try not to stare at them for too long.

The snake massages are oddly popular

It is understood that those wishing to be massaged by pythons at the Cebu City Zoo in the Philippines need only make a donation to the wildlife sanctuary to see their dream come true. As surprising as this may sound, zoo employees say that the massages they offer are quite popular.

“At first, visitors feel fear, but most of the guests who try the snake massage say that they like it,” Giovanni Romarate, the Cebu City Zoo's current manager, told the press in a recent interview, as cited by Mirror.

Mind you, these massages are not exactly a brand new idea to attract customers and raise money for the zoo. On the contrary, the wildlife sanctuary has been offering such experiences in exchange for donations for several years now.
