A new company called Iron Man Factory will take your order

The Iron Man armor Mark III is one of the most popular Iron Man suits ever, and one of the most popular armor suits in fiction in general. That must be why a company even took the name Iron Man Factory.

Obviously, Tony Stark doesn't exist, since the Marvel multiverse is firmly entrenched in the imaginary.

That isn't stopping the Iron Man Factory from building the armor though.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on your view, it's not the actual, high-tech armor, but a 3D printed replica made of carbon fiber polymer.

It still has sensor-controlled motors though (powered by one AAA battery), which activate “thrusters” on the back, or slide the helmet open. The interior is padded too, for comfort.

The price depends on whether you want the full thing or not. The total sum is of $1,999 / €1,454, but the helmet alone costs $1,299 / €945. It takes 3-4 months to make (unless you cash out $35,000 / €25,458 to have it done faster).

The company needs at least 50 pre-orders to actually move forward with the idea though. Ultimately, this is still just a crowd-funded campaign.

Update Dec 19, 2013: Alas, this seems to be a scam. It was nice to dream, though, even if for just a short time.
