According to some leaked info from Motorola

Mobile phone freaks that are always getting their handset replaced by the latest model available on the market will be disappointed that the process won't be possible once they buy a new Motorola Aura.

The latest addition to Motorola's luxurious portfolio is supposed to sell for no less than 1500 EUR. Even if the price is very high, there are a lot of people who would still change it for a newer, more expensive handset, once they're fed up with it. Still, even those won't be able to cut their losses and sell their Aura swivel phone to their friends or simply on ebay.

According to a source close to the company, Motorola thought to insure the exclusivity of the device by requiring its buyers to sign a contract that states they will never try to list Motorola Aura on ebay. Therefore, if you are the proud owner of such luxury phone, the only possibility to get rid of it and still receive some money is to sell it back to Motorola.

I don't know whether this is such a good idea, unless Motorola plans on selling second hand Aura devices, just to make more bucks. The price of a second hand Aura, if sold by Motorola, is still unknown, but will probably vary in accordance with its technical status.

To enforce these contract rules, each Aura device will be sold together with a unique ID number, which will be registered on the buyer's name. Moreover, if you intend to infringe the contract signed, you'll probably be forced to pay some damages, which will most certainly be much higher than the phone's price.

The source that revealed these pieces of information also told 'Register Hardware' that the phone should be available in the UK around the 5th of December.
