Nintendo has released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming 3DS and 2DS platformer Yoshi's New Island, depicting some of the exciting in-game mechanics.

Developed by Arzest, the game will have players assisting Yoshi in his mission to reunite baby Mario with his missing brother, Luigi, while navigating the perilous new island.

Players will have an arsenal of moves to make use of in order to dispatch their enemies, Yoshi being able to gobble up enemies in order to make eggs, and then shoot them at his opponents.

Gamers can even use Mega Eggdozers in order to crash through obstacles and steer Yoshi through gyro controls when he transforms into various vehicles, and will be able to uncover many collectible items during their journey.

Yoshi's New Island is scheduled to release on March 14, 2014, for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS handheld systems.
