Despite some people who might say that there is nothing much left to be designed inside a kitchen, the real-life examples prove this saying wrong. And Japanese designer Toyo has just showcased one new and striking kitchen idea that opens a whole new horizon when it comes to administering space, shape and functionality: the Isola S.

Now, don't be fooled by the Italian name: the Isola S is a purely Far East creation as it exploits to the max the famous Yin-Yang symbol, adding a modern touch to it while at the same time providing the kitchen user with a familiar and homely arrangement.

And since Yin and Yang are the black and white complementary elements, this new kitchen sports a modular design, with each of the parts complementing the other one in terms of functionality and shape. The Isola S is more than meets the eye and it can be easily converted into many useful shapes, each serving different purposes.

Depending on what you want to do while in the kitchen, the Isola S can be set so that you get exactly where you want to. It boasts a three electric burner array with all sorts of drawers neatly hiding underneath its top; it also sports an oval sink, with everything looking smooth and natural. This Toyo Yin-Yang kitchen can come in extremely handy especially in places where room is a premium item and a modular character is the only thing that could really get the job done.

Even more, you can definitely add a very special look to your residence with such a shape-shifting kitchen; imagine how relaxing it could be to be able to often change the way your kitchen looks like without spending another dime and by all means, with minimal effort and construction mess. You also get blue LED illumination under the whole ensemble for an even more futuresque look. Though if you plan to use it in the dark, we'd suggest you restrain yourself from pouring some more wine or reaching for the chips as using a knife when almost completely blind is not the safest thing.

So far the Yin-Yang-themed Isola S kitchen from Toyo is available only in Japan and the price isn't yet known.
