iPods are not as innocent as they look. They might reveal a cute milky white look, but on the inside, they can turn into real monsters and jeopardize your life, for reasons unknown.

We have recently informed you about the research which proved that the MP3 player and iPods can interfere with the activity of cardiac pacemakers. Besides that, it has been reported lately that the iPods themselves are really dangerous
when getting wet.

If by accident or just by curiosity you manage to put it into your washing machine, do not try to fix it up with anything in your toolkit, especially not with a screwdriver. A kid tried that, and he ended up treated by paramedics, so it's not a joke.

But the worst part is just to come. Apparently, these gizmos can actually put your pants on fire, literally. How come? Well, during his shift at Atlanta's International Airport, Danny Williams was told by an old lady that his pants are in flames. In fact, the iPod Nano Williams had in his pockets had caught fire, causing such powerful flames that they almost killed the man.

Fortunately, there was no need for paramedics this time, as Williams was able to put out the fire himself, without suffering any serious physical harm. The poor man stated to WSBTV: "If TSA had come by and seen me smoking, they could have honestly thought I was a terrorist." Just imagine the end of that!

According to the same WSBTV, "Williams said Apple wants him to send his iPod back and they've vowed to replace it. Williams' mother called Channel 2 because she said this is more than one iPod. She said it's about what could have happened."

You see, the iPod is not the first electronic to go on fire. Mobile communication devices, PDAs and laptops can also be a source of surprise and shocking flame. It's all because of the battery pack they use. Apple refused to offer an official comment on this incident.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
