The number of high-quality apps and games available in the store is growing at a really fast pace and this is clearly good news for Microsoft, as the company struggles to boost the overall apps count offered to Windows 8.1 adopters.

In addition to essential apps such as Facebook and Viber, Windows 8.1 users can now download another exciting game that works on both desktops and tablets running the new operating system.

Yeti on Furry is a tower defense game that’s already available on several other platforms and, starting today, Windows 8.1 users can get it from the store too free of charge.

“Unleash the yeti’s fury on completely crazy climbers in a hilarious tower defense in 3D... and fur. Confront an onslaught of insane climbers - from the most stupid to the most vicious - all of whom have special tricks for reaching the top of the mountain: tunnels, ziplines, even teleporters!” the game description reads.

“With simplified touch gameplay, use your incredible super powers to defend your lair from the climbers! Sneezing, triangle concert or the Yeti’s fist of vengeance: no holds barred!”

The feature lineup looks pretty appealing and includes 100 missions with a different difficulty level, 4 powers with 6 upgradable levels (such as snow, fire, and electricity), 3 super powers (the gigantic sneeze, the triangle concert, and the fist of vengeance), and 4 different bonuses.

As mentioned, Yeti on Furry comes with support for both desktop computers and tablets running the new Windows 8.1 operating system, but also for the Windows RT 8.1 version also available on Microsoft’s Surface and Surface 2 units.

The game is obviously free of charge for all users of the new Windows 8.1, so you can download Yeti on Furry right now to see what it looks like on your Surface tablet.
