LG’s next flagship won’t probably be the G Pro 3

LG introduced the G4 not so long ago, but the flagship failed to incite the minds and souls of customers around the world. At least for the time being. But the company is not giving up, as reports say it is looking to woo smartphone enthusiasts with yet another premium device later this year.

Rumors about a second flagship device coming from LG have been circling around for quite some time, but now we get a second confirmation via Focus Taiwan that this is indeed what's about to happen soon.

When the LG G4 came out with a Snapdragon 808 on the inside, we speculated that the company was saving the high-end Snapdragon 810 for its second line of flagship models, which will supposedly be placed above the G4.

Following the footsteps of Samsung and Sony, LG too has produced two flagship models a year, so the information shouldn't come as a shock.

LG hopes to boost sales with the second flagship

The current report cites the insights provided by LG’s director of mobile business in Taiwan, Eason Shao, who said that, with the two new flagships, the company hopes to increase sales in the country by at least 30%.

Sadly, Shao didn't reveal any information about the sort of specs we should expect to see inside the new phone. What’s more, the specifications are yet to be finalized.

So if the phone ends up being launched towards the end of the year, we might even see the new LG flagship grace the market with a Snapdragon 820 on board.

What LG did was launch a device from the G Pro series, which aims to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S family, and then followed it up with an LG G model that takes on the Galaxy Note series.

In 2014, LG unveiled the G Pro 2 at MWC, and then a few months later, the LG G3 made an appearance on the market. But this year, the Korean company has changed its strategy a little bit, by debuting the LG G4 first.

We currently don’t know much about the second flagship line, but word on the street has it that LG has renounced its G Pro line.
