Location-based search service Yelp has released a new iOS client with a bunch of improvements. The app now autocompletes your queries, so you don’t have to type complex words a second time, and connects you to actual business owners.

Yelp, which also powers Apple’s Siri, is available as a free standalone app for iPhone and iPad. It enables you to “search for places to eat, shop, drink, relax and play then read reviews from an active community of locals in the know,” as the developers put it.

In version 6.4, the search location autocompletes as you type, which means “you no longer need to remember how to correctly spell ‘Albuquerque’,” according to Yelp.

For iPhone users only, the app offers information about business specialties and history directly from the owner. People who own a business indexed by Yelp are encouraged to access biz.yelp.com and provide some details.

The iPhone version also features some updated reviews, says the changelog. All this and the usual bag of fixes awaits at the link below.
