Remember Archos’ GamePad, a tablet designed specifically for gaming? Well, it appears the slate has a new competitor to watch out for, in the persona of the Yarvik G1 Force.

The European company has recently launched the G1 Force also known as TAB07-220, which is a 7-inch model especially optimized for gaming. This means that the slate’s housing provides users with dedicated physical controllers that aid in gameplay.

So the G1 Force comes bundled with two analog joysticks, two shoulder buttons, traditional ABXY buttons and four freely assignable hotkeys.

Yarvik says that all the 16 buttons are fully programmable, via the G1 Force’s button assign app. Users only have to point at on-screen touch controls and then couple them with any of the hardware game buttons.

To make the offering more attractive, Yavrik is bundling the tablet with a couple of games like the Trail Xtreme 3 (which is a motortrack racing game) and the Fun Run (a fun multiplayer running game).

Since the slate runs Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, users will have the opportunity to tap into the plethora of games that is Google Play Store and choose the titles they want to play.

Now moving on to the tablet’s specifications, the 7-inch display features an average resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels (something better would have been expected on a gaming tablet) and sucks power from a dual-core Cortex A9 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and backed up by 8GB of RAM.

On top of that, the slate offers IEEE 802.11 b/g/n which promises 150 Mbps transfer speed, USB 2.0, built-in microphone and built-in speakers.

The slate runs on an average battery 3,000 mAh battery so don’t expect it to hold all day long. Apart from the games, Yarvik has equipped the gaming tablet with a bunch of additional software like Video Player, ES File Explorer or MobiSoft OfficeSuite Viewer.

The device’s price starts at an affordable €136 / $185.
