Authorities have closed down part of State Route 89 in Arizona while they are trying to contain a wildfire in the Yarnell area.

As I have mentioned before, the flames killed 19 firefighters from the Granite Mountain Hotshots team based in Prescott, Arizona.

They died near the town of Yarnell, where the flames have already destroyed roughly 25 homes, sheds and public buildings.

AZ Family relays a statement by the Arizona Department of Transportation, noting that 15 miles (24 km) of State Route 89, from milepost 269 to milepost 285, are off limits. Travelers can take Interstate 17 or US 93 instead, Transportation officials suggest.
