A security breach was discovered by the administrators of Yandy.com, an online retailer of women lingerie and clothing, resulting in credit and debit card data of customers being exposed.

Between May 28 and August 18, an unknown intruder accessed a website database containing sensitive financial information four times.

Upon detecting the intrusion on August 18, the company proceeded to take the necessary measures to correct the issue and ensure the integrity and security of the site.

The details exposed during the incidents refer to payment card data submitted during the checkout process. The personal info includes credit and debit card numbers, expiration dates, CVV numbers, and email addresses.

In a letter sent to the affected customers, Yandy.com team offers advice for keeping a vigilant eye to protect against identity theft. They were unable to confirm whether the personal information leaked because of this incident had been misused.

The Phoenix-based company did not disclose the number of clients that were affected by the incident, but it has thousands of followers for its Twitter and Instagram feeds and more than 720,000 likes for its Facebook page.

The company began its activity as a startup in 2005, growing to offer more than 10,000 items on its website.
