When it comes down to great audio quality there aren't that many companies that can do it as Yamaha does it, so iPhone and iPod users alike should be glad to know the Japanese company released the PDX-31 portable player dock that is compatible with Apple's devices as well as other PMP's thanks to an AUX-in jack.

Available in three dramatic colors, dark red, black and light gray, the stylish PDX-31 promises to offer a superior sound quality thanks to a Yamaha digital amplifier that features low noise distortions, this dock also coming with an “box-within-a-box” construction and twin 3 1/4 -inch speakers to provide rich dynamic bass response for a powerful and clean sound.

Great audio quality is also accompanied by compact sizing, the PDX-31 easily finding its way in any room inside your home.

Moving on, Yamaha was gracious enough to bundle this unit together with a small remote control that works pretty much like your iPod controls, making it easy to browse menus and select songs, the PDX-31 also coming with an Auto Power Off feature which automatically powers the unit off after a certain amount of time to conserve energy.

Furthermore, the PDX-31 remembers the volume level when you remove your portable device so the next time you dock it, the volume is set to that level, a pretty cool and useful feature if you ask me

“Yamaha places a high premium on versatility in designing its products,” said Tom Sumner, President, Yamaha Electronics Corporation.

“The PDX-31 allows you to enjoy song files in several different ways, while offering great sound, effortless operation and sleek styling.”

When it comes down to pricing however, things aren't really that great since the PDX-31 will set you back a full $169.95, although I am pretty sure that for that much doe will get you with one of the best sounding iPod docks available, considering Yamaha's legacy.
