The developers at SEGA working on Yakuza Ishin are ready to offer fans of the series more information on the combat system that will power the coming title via a long presentation that shows the main character using some of his new moves.

Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama and designer Shinnosuke Hirasawa are providing commentary on the changes they are making, unfortunately all in Japanese.

Katana battles are designed to offer a cinematic feeling and players will have to focus on their enemies first, learning the timing of their attacks in order to block them and then launch devastating counters.

Yakuza Ishin will also introduce a pistol for long-range engagements, but its use will leave gamers more vulnerable and the main character will have to use more dodge moves.

SEGA also says weapon switching will be faster and will lead to battles where gamers mix both to quickly take out enemies.

The new game, which is now yet confirmed for Western launch, will be out in Japan on February 22 on the PlayStation 4 and the PS3.
