Video game publisher SEGA has announced that the upcoming Yakuza 5 will be launched on December 6 on the Japanese market, exclusively on the PlayStation 3 home console from Sony.

The new game also received a new trailer from the publisher at the Tokyo Game Show, which is designed to offer fans a glimpse into how the new game will play.

Yakuza 5 will offer a bigger open-world than previous installments in the series and will be the first to allow players to travel to more than one city in order to solve a quest.

SEGA has not yet offered any sort of official information on when Yakuza 5 might be launched on Western markets.

Traditionally, the gap between the Japanese launch of the game and the date when it arrives in the West is at least six months.

Recent success of other games in the series might persuade SEGA to expedite the process.
