Toshihiro Nagoshi, the game director working on Yakuza 5, says that he is working on more experiences linked to the highly successful action franchise, with an announcement or teaser set to come later during 2013.

The developers tells the Dengeki PlayStation magazine, translated by Gematsu, that his team is at the moment using a pragmatic approach for the next Yakuza video game, which will deliver a more physical experience, presumably when it comes to the battle system.

Apparently, Yakuza 5 is the last game in the series to arrive on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, which means either a next-generation console launch or a move to the PlayStation Vita handheld.

The game has been available on the Japanese market since December of last year and SEGA has not yet announced plans to launch the game on the Western market.
