Yahoo recently revealed oneSearch, an innovative search engine especially designed for the mobile devices from all over the world. The product is somehow different from the classic
mobile search technologies because it doesn't provide only the link concerning the keyword entered by the user but it also returns more information about it. Take for example the name of a company, oneSearch returning the official website of the company bundled with stock information and other details. Today, Yahoo made an interesting announcement, sustaining oneSearch is now available for more than 85 percent of the handheld devices on the market that means the product is quite well-developed and supported.
"Today we announced that Yahoo! oneSearch is available on more than 85% of phones, providing greater access to the mobile web. The service is designed to give mobile searchers answers to their queries, not just a list of links. It's about making search on your mobile device as quick and as easy as possible, by providing relevant results right on the page. If you're hungry, search for "pizza" and check out the user ratings for local pizza places, or grab the phone number to place your order," Lee Ott, Product Manager for Yahoo Mobile, sustained in a blog post published today.
As you know, the race for the most powerful company able to provide mobile solutions started some time ago, Google and Yahoo representing the main candidates for the leader position. The search giant Google was even the subject of numerous rumors sustaining the company is preparing its own Googlephone able to challenge the upcoming Apple iPhone. Although there were several signs of a Google mobile phone, the company denied the speculation, adding the search giant is currently working to build only software solutions and not hardware tools.
