Lingxian Ding has announced on the Yahoo! Search Blog revealing that the Sunnyvale-based company has integrated the Flickr experience with its search services. According to Lingxian the user generated
content posted on Flickr has been indexed by Yahoo permitting for the returning of image results.

"We've all had moments in our lives when we wished we had our cameras around to capture a perfect sunset, an amusing cloud shape in the sky, or a candid shot of our friends, family or pets. That's why Flickr is so great. It is full of these moments - as seen through the eyes of the world. Whenever I go looking for interesting images on Flickr, I'm always amazed by the diversity. Some are outright funny; others are serene, moving, or striking," wrote Lingxian.

While integrating Flickr images into Yahoo search results Lingxian stated that the new initiative conjugates community tags and index references with query algorithms in order to promote user content via Yahoo searches.
