Upcoming was only a small company that allowed users to configure their own events for certain locations, creating an
interactive community that would display the most important moments for specific regions. Since the Yahoo acquisition, the product was improved a lot with numerous functions and features but the biggest update was announced today when the social events calendar, as Search Engine Land named it, moved to a separate Yahoo subdomain. Along with the big migration, Upcoming also received several other features that will allow the product to interact with Flickr and other solutions designed by the giant portal. Using the pictures provided by Flickr, the users are not able to customize the appearance of a certain event as well as share their own photos with other members of the service.

"Yep, it's official, we have moved into our new home inside Yahoo!, so from this point forward you'll be able to login to your account with your Yahoo! ID. For you Upcoming old-schoolers, please don't fret, all of your friends and settings are saved. We haven't forgotten about our amazing users, the community that makes Upcoming great. Not only will you get an old school badge to represent you on Upcoming, but we're throwing in a t-shirt, too," the Upcoming team sustained in a blog post published on Yahoo.

As you can see if you visit the new page of Upcoming, the design was modified and updated to provide special events for musicians, artists, freaks and geeks provided by other service powered by Yahoo: Local. This is quite the first important update for the product because Upcoming evolved from a small business to a huge community of users that are continuously sharing events using the official page.
