Although Google News tends to become more popular than Yahoo News, it seems like the giant portal's service is the most recently attacked solution on the internet. As you may know, Google was criticized in the past for its News service because the company is currently receiving praises for articles that are not created by the search giant. Google News is based on multiple sources located in the entire world and that are continuously sending latest news to the service. Then, the solution will publish all the articles on the official website of the service so the company doesn't own any copyright. That's why Google was sued by a Belgian newspaper that sustained the search giant is reproducing their content without authorization. Google appealed the complaint and a final decision is expected this month.

After Google, Yahoo is another company that faces lawsuits filed by a Belgian newspaper that sustains the giant portal must stop publishing its content without their authorization. Although the publication mentioned that they sent only a formal letter, it is very possible to sue Yahoo if the giant portal doesn't take any action.

"We sent a letter of formal notice to Yahoo yesterday so that it will stop publishing articles from Belgian newspapers on its search engine without prior authorization," said Bernard Magrez, lawyer for the editors group Copiepresse said on Thursday. "Copiepresse accuses Yahoo of violating copyright laws by giving Internet users access to archived newspaper articles which the papers themselves would now charge people to read," The Age reported.

The publication also mentioned that Microsoft was sued by a Belgian newspaper saying the company must stop reproducing its content or it can face a daily fine of 1.3 million US dollars. The search giant removed all the articles from the news service and blocked all the content coming from the newspaper's website.
