Yahoo! Shortcuts Does WordPress Bloggers' Job

Blogging is what people do when they have nothing to do but they have an idea, they put it down in an as-creative-as-can be manner on their page. It could be some news or reviewing a service or just plain writing off the top of their heads something that they'd thought in the lunch break or had dreamt during the night.

Many times it's difficult to best express what you want with only words, so as a picture is said to be worth a thousand words, they started adding them to the posts, but it would have been too much of a burden to start searching for a picture to exactly match your thoughts or take on the situation; so what Yahoo! has thought of is that it should come to the aid of those in need and add shortcuts to some words that it recognized.

The technology is just sitting there in the background and whenever you need it, it will take on the burden of finding additional content and integrate it into the post you are currently writing, so that you don't have to. Finding a site, copying its address and then linking it to words is a tiresome procedure and if you're into it and use it ten or twenty times an entry… well, it's not such a time saver, to say the least. The Yahoo! Shortcuts, once the respective plug-in is downloaded and installed, will find company names or tickers, locations, news and product names in your post, and will integrate a roll-over or preview badge into it, according to Ariel Seidman & Luke Wroblewski, as written on the Yahoo! blog.
