Yahoo Search is currently the most powerful rival for Google's search engine that is regarded as the best search technology on the Internet. Because the battle is very important for both companies, Google and Yahoo are improving their products periodically with new features designed to attract users to their solutions. This time, it's Yahoo's turn, the giant portal introducing a brand new feature displayed on the SERP and is meant to provide more information about a certain movie. Yahoo Shortcuts for movies returns useful details about a film such as the cover, the nominees, showtimes and even a quick access to the trailer provided by Yahoo.

"A Yahoo! Shortcut is a quick way to get to the information you want. A Yahoo! Shortcut automatically appears when it is relevant to your search and can contain links to useful content from Yahoo!, its partners, or across the web. Some of the content may come from partners who pay to be included in Yahoo! or have another financial relationship with Yahoo! Sometimes, we even give you the answer to your search right there in the shortcut. You can also learn how to trigger some of our shortcuts yourself, by using the special search words described below," the company described the feature.

To test the new feature added to Yahoo Search, I search for The Departed by entering the "the departed hollywood ca" phrase in the search box. Yahoo returned me useful information provided by Yahoo Movies such as "Academy Award Nominee: Best Picture, Achievement in Directing, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing, Best Supporting Actor." It seems like the company plans more shortcuts in the future including movie trailers, more films and inline showtimes as Raj Gossain & Don Chennavasin, Yahoo! Search, sustained on the official blog.
