Yahoo Search Assist, the technology which is supposed to provide alternative searches for the users who want to find information on the Internet, is now available to all UK residents. Barry Schwartz from Search Engine Land wrote
that the function was officially rolled out today while the United States received it earlier this month. In case you never used it, you should really give it a spin because you might find the information you requested easier than anytime before without typing a word. After searching the web with Yahoo's search engine, the Sunnyvale company will provide several related links just under the search box.
You can easily turn it off by clicking on the 'Off' button available in the top right corner of the Search Assist screen but I really recommend you to keep it activated because it might be really useful sometimes.
"The new Yahoo! Search is focused on providing consumers with the most relevant information as well as providing the best user experience possible. We know that consumers want a complete answer, not just links, and the enhancements we are making are focused on getting people to the best answer in one search whether that's a Web link, photo, video or music clip," said Jeff Revoy, VP Yahoo! Search and Social Media, Europe, for Search Engine Land.
Yahoo Search Assist comes to complete the set of suggestion utilities also including Yahoo Suggestions which appear every time you start typing a word in the search box.
"Search Suggestions is a feature of Yahoo! Search that analyzes your search in real-time and instantly provides relevant alternate search terms and phrases as you type," Yahoo describes the suggestions provided by its search engine. "As you type a search, Search Suggestions compares it to searches other Yahoo! users have composed and suggests completed searches that might be helpful."
