Yahoo is one of the largest online companies with offices in the entire world and a world-class reputation. Yesterday, I told you about the comparison between Google and Yahoo that showed us that the search giant is more popular than Yahoo, owning a huge number of homepages in the entire world. It seems like Yahoo knows this fact and decided to establish a new research lab in Bangalore, India, to hire mentors and partners.

Yahoo already owns a Bangalore office with almost 700 employees, but it seems like the company aims to create another office to improve its local services. "We have initiated the process of setting up our lab in Bangalore and have started hiring scientists for this unit. There is no time-frame when this centre will start its operations as it depends on the caliber of people we hire and when the centre will be acquire a critical mass of people," Prabhakar Raghavan, head of Yahoo Research, in Bangalore said for Business Standard.

Recently, Yahoo and its biggest rival Google, made important investments in the Asian market, the perfect choice for many companies attracted by the innovative technology developed here. As you may know, Yahoo already encountered serious problems in China after multiple departures, even the Yahoo China president leaving the company to manage his own organization. The Yahoo representatives are looking to avoid this hard situation and are continuously trying to hire only talented personnel.

"Our scientists focus on data-driven analysis, high-quality search, algorithms and economic models. Yahoo manages many of the largest and richest data repositories in the world, and our researchers mine insights from these giant collections, individually and collectively, maintaining the privacy of our users while setting new standards for user value," said Raghavan about Yahoo research initiatives according to Business Standard.
