Yahoo announced its users that a new improvement for the search technology is scheduled for April 5, containing several changes in the ranking system. As usual, the giant portal sustains there
will be numerous differences between the old and the new ranking systems but, even if the updating process was started last evening, the users sustain there is no change in the search engine technology. Although Yahoo plans to crawl the websites in the databases, the backlinks and the content they store, it seems like no important change was yet reported in the functionality of the company's product.
"We are in the process of rolling out some changes to our search results. As usual, you may see some changes in ranking as well as some shuffling of the pages that are included in the index throughout this process. This update will roll out this evening and will be complete very soon," Priyank Garg, Yahoo Search, announced in a blog post published on the page of the service.
As I said before, there is no important change in the ranking system although the company started the updating process yesterday and several websites were already re-crawled. As far I can see, the improvement announced by Yahoo is more a maintenance process similar to the ones started by the search giant Google for the advertising platform. As you might know, Google used to start once in a while a maintenance process for its advertising platforms, AdWords and Adsense, especially to correct bugs and other problems.
However, if you record any modification in your ranking system for the Yahoo Search engine, don't worry because it is currently an updating process so the old position must be returned soon.
