Yahoo's doing better than it has been for the past few years, it's flush with cash, it's got a hot new CEO, things are looking up. A Mexican court though has ordered it to pay $2.7 billion, €2.07 billion in damages to a couple of companies, something that could prove a huge burden for the company. Details are scarce, but Worldwide Directories S.A. de C.V. and Ideas Interactivas, S.A. de C.V. sued Yahoo over a breach of contract over a yellow pages listing service. Yahoo, obviously, won't go down without a fight, it believes the "claims are without merit and will vigorously pursue all appeals." Doubtless, this will carry on for a while, but there's no guarantee that Yahoo is going to win the lawsuit. Still, the damages seem to be unrealistic to say the least, Yahoo barely made $1.2 billion, €920 million in revenue during Q3 this year.
