14 DAY TRIAL // David Chalian, chief of the Washington bureau of Yahoo News, was fired from his position after putting his foot in his mouth in the biggest, most offensive way possible. Check out the video above to see what that’s all about.
As Yahoo News was showing footage from the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, of Mitt Romney and his wife, Chalian didn’t realize he was still on air, as neither did others in the room.
“They're not concerned at all,” a voice says of the Romneys, shown smiling and waving at the cameras.
“They are happy to have a party with black people drowning,” Chalian responds, laughing out loud.
After footage of this made it online, Chalian apologized, as also did Yahoo News. It clearly did him no good, considering that he was still let go.
