On more than 400 handsets

Yahoo! has announced today that its new Yahoo! Mobile experience is now available in nine more countries, and that 100 more devices all around the world now support it. Yahoo! Mobile enables users to stay connected and informed directly via their mobile devices, while also offering them connectivity in 17 countries.

“We’re thrilled with the consumer adoption of Yahoo! as a starting point to the Internet experience on mobile devices,” said David Ko, senior vice president, Yahoo! Mobile. “With products like the new Yahoo! Mobile, we’re invigorating the mobile industry and creating consumer demand for compelling Internet services across a variety of mobile platforms. We’re delivering engaging and customizable user experiences for consumers around the globe, ultimately putting them in control of their mobile lives.”

According to the company, the Yahoo! Mobile for the Web can now be enjoyed on a number of more than 400 mobile phones all around the world, through their HTML-enabled mobile browsers, via this link. In addition, the Apple iPhone App Store also includes a specially developed Yahoo! Mobile iPhone app.

Yahoo! Mobile includes a feature-rich design and provides users with an environment where they can have all the favorite content and services from the Internet. It enables mobile phone users to discover through the results from Yahoo!'s mobile search and editor-selected content, stay connected through access to email and social network accounts, instant messaging, address book and calendar tools, and stay informed via content from websites, news sources, RSS feeds, weather, stocks, horoscopes and more.

Users in Europe, Asia and the Americas, including the recently added Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Italy can benefit from what Yahoo! Mobile has to offer to them. Yahoo! Mobile for Web and the Yahoo! Mobile iPhone app were available at first in eight countries, including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, France, India, Indonesia and the Philippines. According to the company, more localized versions should come during the ongoing year.
