The battle between Google and Yahoo is known to the entire world because the two Internet giants are challenging one another in numerous domains. I think all of you admit that Google owns the best search engine in the virtual world, while Yahoo is struggling to compete with the search giant using its own search technology. However, the two firms are more than simple rivals, because a lot of their products are targeting the same segment of users.

At this time, the Internet users can choose from two mail solutions: Yahoo Mail and Gmail. Some time ago, Gmail was praised for its powerful spam filters, while Yahoo Mail was often criticized for the weak protection system that allows the unwanted messages to infiltrate into our inboxes. However, the recent market studies revealed that Yahoo Mail bested Gmail and attracted an impressive number of users. Gmail is not even close because the second place was won by Hotmail, one of the oldest mail solutions on the Internet.

In the recent period, the two companies wanted to expand their products into the mobile area and developed new flavors of their products. Yesterday, Yahoo unveiled oneSearch in numerous countries while Google struggles to lure the handheld owners with several products. As you might know, you're now able to access Gmail, Google Maps and even the search technology straight from your mobile phone.

The Mountain View company is the owner of Google Earth and Google Maps, two solutions that allow users to view satellite maps with ease. Most of the users agree that these two products are the most powerful tools in their categories. Yahoo is the only name that doesn't agree on this idea and it seems that it wants even more and updated its maps services with new features. Yesterday, Yahoo Maps was improved with driving directions for various major European countries.
