Among the ocean of IM clients, there is one which dominates the Softpedia users' preferences and that client is Yahoo Messenger. Of the 852 votes, Yahoo Messenger has obtained 22.07%.
After a tight competition, Yahoo Messenger has succeeded to defeat MSN Messenger, Microsoft's IM client ending up
on the second place, with 20.33% of the votes.
GAIM is on third place with 14.17%, while Google Talk, although a new entry, has occupied the fourth place with 10.8%, closely followed by Trillian with 9.28%.
Skype has succeeded to exceed the 5% threshold with 5.46%, leaving AOL Instant Messenger (4.99%) and ICQ (3.37%) in the dust.
9.64% of the voters preferred another IM client, which was not listed in our poll.
