Yahoo: Sorry, not available yet!

Since Yahoo Messenger is one of the top instant messaging clients on the web, the Sunnyvale company Yahoo is continuously focused on it, looking to improve it with new features and functions. If you're a Windows Vista user, you're probably waiting for the special version of Yahoo Messenger which is expected to be 100 percent compatible with this operating system. In fact, Yahoo Messenger 8.1 is already able to work on Vista but the Yahoo folks said the new instant messaging client will come with stunning functions especially designed for the new Microsoft OS. The Yahoo Messenger for Windows Vista shows a boring 'Coming Soon!' message which might disappoint most of the users expecting the product.

What's most interesting is that the page was officially released in January, the same month of the Vista release, Yahoo sustaining the chatting tool can be released in the second quarter of the year. As Elinor Mills from CNET notes, the second quarter was ended and there's no Yahoo Messenger for Vista.

Moreover, the Sunnyvale super giant refuses to provide a release date and says that "we continue to actively work on Yahoo Messenger for Windows Vista and look forward to sharing updates and information including the beta launch of the new service. We will keep you up to date on launch timing but in the meantime, information is available on the Yahoo Messenger blog and the Yahoo Messenger for Windows Vista product page," as the same source reports.

It seems like the Vista users are a little bit neglected by Yahoo since the company updated Yahoo Messenger with lots of new functions but no version for the latest Microsoft operating system. As you might know, Yahoo introduced a new beta of Messenger for Mac, it rolled out an improved web-based flavor or Messenger and it even implemented the service into Mail in order to allow the users to communicate without leaving the mail's interface.

Obviously, you can still use the old-fashioned (as the Vista fans might name it) version of Yahoo Messenger. But don't forget that there are several glitches between the chatting tool and the operating system. For example, I wasn't able to maximize the chatting window because it was expanded outside the screen.
