There is no doubt that Yahoo Messenger is the most popular instant messaging client on the Internet because it offers the best and the most advanced functions ever included into this kind of solution. But it's enough to encounter a simple problem to start looking for an alternative and let's face it, it's extremely easy to find a powerful Yahoo Messenger replacement. However, the best
idea would be to try repairing the problem in order to keep using Yahoo Messenger. I heard a lot of users saying the emoticons included in Yahoo's chatting applications are not animated although we all know they should be so.

Well, this problem can be resolved by following some simple steps. In fact, it is all about an Internet option that has nothing to do with Yahoo Messenger so stop claiming that your instant messenger in broken. For numerous reasons, the function that enables you to have animated emoticons is automatically disabled by some applications, websites or scripts so all you need to do is to re-enable that feature.

So, if you want to make your emoticons animated you should open Internet Explorer or Control Panel and click on Internet Options. Choose the Advanced tab and scroll down until you find the Multimedia section. One of the options is entitled 'Play Animations In Webpages'. This option should be checked in order to allow your emoticons to animate. If it's already enabled, disable, hit Apply and then follow the same steps to enable it back. That's all. Keep in mind that you must restart Yahoo Messenger in order to see the changes but no computer reboot is required.

As usual, you can download the latest version of Yahoo Messenger straight from Softpedia using this link. Also, there are numerous utilities compatible with this chatting applications listed on Softpedia, most of them being included here.
