There are a lot of users that are reading Yahoo News, a service that receives news from multiple sources and displays them organized in multiple categories. The solution is currently one of the most popular news services on the internet because it offers a wide variety of information from all domains. Beside this, Yahoo News allows readers to comment the subject through the message board feature. This way, the company can interact with its users
allowing them to publish their opinion about the news and discuss it with other members of the community.

Of course, this function also has a lot of disadvantages. One of the most important is the fact that sometimes the discussion is dominated by some users so it's impossible to link the comments to other related news.

So, the giant portal decided to disable this feature and to develop a new alternative that will give news readers more power and the company more revenues.

Neil Budde, General Manager for Yahoo! News, posted a message on the message board website to announce the decision and to mention that Yahoo is currently working for an alternative.

"Yahoo! News is working on new ways for readers to comment on the news and participate in a discussion around it. While we work on our new community features, the message boards that were linked from individual news articles have been taken offline.

As they were set up, the Yahoo! News message boards allowed a small number of vocal users to dominate the discussion. In addition, related discussions from similar news articles were not easily linked. Over the next few months, we plan to offer new discussion forums based on topics in the news and incorporating the latest features to foster a better discussion for all of our readers," he said.
