Using its brand new Company Store

Yahoo has just rolled out Company Store, a brand new online store that allows you to buy all sorts of things branded with the Yahoo logo. The new page provides almost any product you're looking for divided in 4 categories: For Fun, To Go, In Style and At Work that enable you to buy sports stuff, bags, T-shirts, tech tools and even computer peripherals such as flexible keyboards. Although it's not yet a real online shop that is able to compete with famous names on the market, Yahoo Company Store helps you remain close to your favorite firm wherever you go.

"The site sports cooler, cleaner designs than the old Yahoo! Gear site. You'll note that the Y-Bang (you know, the "Y!" logo) is the reigning motif. Emoticons are tr?s chic this season. And, of course, purple is always en vogue," Doreen Bloch, Yahoo! Intern, wrote today. "The Yahoo! Company Store is hosted by the Yahoo! Small Business e-commerce platform called Merchant Solutions, which means whether it's soap, soda, sofas, or cellophane, anyone can create a site as spiffy as this one."

The bad thing about this online store is that it's accessible only to the US residents so if you want to buy one of those products and you're a European Yahoo fan, you simply can't do it.

This is quite a good idea promoted by the Sunnyvale company because this way, Yahoo improves its image and gets new fans in the United States. However, I think it would be a good idea to see a similar Google store from the Mountain View company because numerous consumers would be interested and would buy anything with the Google logo. Personally, I would like to receive a flexible keyboard like the ones offered by the Sunnyvale giant Yahoo. If you plan to buy me one, you can find it here.
