Yahoo! Sponsored Search, codenamed Panama, is a service provided by Yahoo that allows you to increase the number of visitors for your site by placing ads on the top of the search engine results page. This way, your website will be displayed for specific keywords above the other sites that are currently listed on Yahoo's index.
Last week, I said the Panama affected the market, increasing shares for some companies and it seems Yahoo loved the idea and decided to improve
the service.
Today, the company made an announcement on the official blog, saying that Yahoo Sponsored Search is now available to all U.S. advertisers that will register for the Panama service.
"An update from the search marketing side of the house. Today, the new Yahoo! Sponsored Search advertising platform, which has carried the code name "Panama," is available to all U.S. marketers who open new accounts with us. Sponsored search has long been one of the most effective ways to advertise online. But in case you're not sure what it is, what we're talking about a form of search engine marketing that lets you create ads that run alongside search results on Yahoo!, and on other sites in the Yahoo! distribution network," Michael Mattis, Blog Editor, said on the main blog.
If you want to register for Yahoo Sponsored Search, you should follow
this link and read more information about the requirements for new users.
Yahoo! Sponsored Search is quite interesting, the company implementing a system that can attract a lot of visitors without an enormous investment. Your ad will be displayed on Yahoo's index without forcing you to pay a cent but you'll pay when your ad is clicked (this means that you'll have to organize you budget to be able to invest new money every day).
