Yahoo has just unveiled that it plans to revamp most of its products and has revealed a much clearer product strategy. One of the products getting a major revamp in the coming weeks is Yahoo Mail, the largest email provider in the world.

"In the next few weeks, you’ll be able to experience Yahoo! Mail Beta, a faster, cleaner, and safer way for you to communicate and share with the people you care about most," Kakul Srivastava, VP Product Management at Yahoo Communications, announced.

"It’s part of our ongoing commitment to deliver the best email service for the 281 million people around the world who use our product," she added.

"Once the changes roll out, you’ll notice a snappier feel to many of the core features in Yahoo! Mail," she said.

The overall design will be cleaner and more intuitive and it will feel less cluttered. All of the features will still be there, but it will look more appealing.

Yahoo Mail will also retain its visual identity across all versions. The new Yahoo Mail will be available on the desktop, mobile devices and tablets. In fact, for preview of the overall design, you can check out the iPad version already live.

But the changes are more than skin deep. Yahoo says the new version will also be significantly faster than the current Yahoo Mail. A lot of work on the back-end infrastructure will reflect in a snappier experience for the users.

The new version will also continue the work Yahoo has done fighting spam. According to the company, Yahoo Mail already has 55 percent less spam than Gmail and 40 percent less than Hotmail.

Of course, the integration of social features, like Twitter and Facebook will continue. And you will be able to access the same services as before, like Yahoo Messenger and others.
