Yahoo! has just announced it has improved its email client for iOS, Android and Windows 8 with new features and enhancements.

In addition, the Android application has been completely redesigned and features more reliable push notifications.

Developers also renamed the application to “Y! Mail” and made it more secure with SSL turned on by default. The latest update also brings better battery performance along with increased stability.

“We’ve redesigned the new version of Yahoo! Mail with speed in mind - getting through your emails is faster than ever before. We’ve also made your inbox more intuitive and easier to navigate, allowing you to focus on what matters most: your messages,” states Marissa Mayer, Yahoo! CEO.

Yahoo! Mail 2.0 is now available as a free download via Google Play Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.0.1 and up. Check it out here.
