Yahoo Mail Unavailable for Mobile Users

- Especially for Blackberry owners

By: Bogdan Popa, Security and Search Engines Editor

The recently upgraded Yahoo Mail is currently unavailable for the Blackberry users who want to access the service from their device. At this time, there is no official reason for the outage
but the Sunnyvale company is working with Sprint Nextel to resolve the problem. The Chicago Tribune informs that the customers of at least one mobile carrier encounter problems with the mobile version of Yahoo Mail while other technologies such as Gmail work fine. While Sprint and Yahoo are currently fixing the problems, T-Mobile and AT&T just analyze the matter in order to see if they could be affected by the downtime.

As you might have heard, Yahoo has just released the final version of Yahoo Mail that comes with excellent functionality for the mobile devices. At least, this is what the Sunnyvale company Yahoo sustains about the upgraded mail technology. Moreover, Yahoo Mail comes with several new goodies, especially addressed to the mobile users. For example, the consumers are able to send a message straight on a mobile device using the interface of the new mail solution. In addition, the mobile clients can send an email back that will be received by the new Yahoo Mail.

Yahoo's mail technology attracts a considerable amount of users, many of them being lured by the recent major improvements introduced in it. For example, some of the consumers connect to their Yahoo Mail account in order to communicate with their friends through the in-built Yahoo Messenger. In addition, some of them are also interested in the unlimited storage size offered by Yahoo Mail.

Some time ago, Yahoo took the decision to add unlimited storage capacity in Yahoo Mail, a move that is meant to compete with Gmail, the Google technology that offers 2.8 GB of storage size. As a reply, the Mountain View company released a special program that allows consumers to buy additional space for their account.
