Search for messages sent by a certain contact

In case you've read my last articles, you may be tempted to believe that I'm an addicted Yahoo Mail fan that can't live without POP3. Well, I'm not, but I can't imagine such a popular webmail service without POP3 support. Maybe I'm not one of those old-fashioned guys who prefer to log in to a website in order to check their email account, but doing such a thing needs time and time is quite important nowadays. So, POP3 in Yahoo Mail is just a dream that we hope will come true anytime soon.

Although we don't have POP3, Yahoo Mail has several other features supposed to replace the main functions of this protocol. For example, a few days ago, Ryan K, Community Manager at Yahoo Mail, showed us multiple tips that would allow you to access your inbox straight from the desktop. Sure, double clicking on a desktop shortcut in order to connect to the Yahoo Mail website is not quite a useful replacement for POP3, but some of you may really use it.

Today, the same Yahoo official reminds us that Yahoo Mail comes with a built-in search function which allows you to search for certain messages sent by certain contacts. Pretty useful I would say, but I personally prefer my Mozilla Thunderbird integrated search, which lets me find a message without loading a website, entering my username and password, clicking on 'Sign In' and typing the search term.

However, for those of you who don't know, there's an easy method to search for all the messages sent by the same contact in Yahoo Mail: "you can simply click on the user's name in the message header (name or email address) and a Search runs for all messages from that user," Ryan K explained on the official Yahoo Mail blog.
